Stuff to Buy

Haven't posted in a while, so I thought that I would update whoever is reading this about my future plans (Is anybody reading?), well, they're not really future plans, they're just stuff that I'm going to buy. OK, here the list so far:

Mario Kart Wii: This is going to be a great game, So I heard ,and I really need to expand my Wii games collection which consists of Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy.

GTA IV: C'mon its GTA you gotta' have it , and it's just in time for the summer.

Halo 3: Yeah, I've had my 360 for a year now, and I don't have Halo 3 yet. I'm an idiot.

Wii remote & Nunchuck: I still haven't experienced the Wii in multiplayer mode. I can't to try Brawl and Wii Sports.

iPhone Headset: I can't go anywhere without my iPhone headsets, and they're literally falling apart. I'm gonna' need new ones soon. And no, not the Bluetooth ones. I'm not paying a 100 bucks for a headset that will let me hear sound from one ear.

So far this is the list. I'm might add stuff to it later on. I'm probably going to get all these stuff before May 4th, because I'm going back home for the summer on that day, and I'm not going to buy any of these stuff over there (Pricy). Anyways, like I said, I'll keep you guys updated.

iPhone Firmware 2.0: Leaked!

Apparently, the iPhone firmware 2.0 (1.2) is leaked. The Dev team already Jail-broke it.

Features in the new firmware:

- Great support with Microsoft Exchange
- Multi select email to move or delete
- Parental controls
- Scientific calculator. (Flip the iPhone sideways)

Now, there other features, but they're not working at the moment. App Store doesn't work on it yet. I'm sure Apple have a couple of other features that they are still working on (hopefully). I can't wait for this update to be officially released.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl: Thoughts

Last Sunday (9th of March), I got Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I got it from St. Vital Centre EB Games in Winnipeg. EB Games in Winnipeg did not have a midnight release. So, I went there Sunday at 12:30 PM. To my surprise there was a long line (about 75 people in front of me). It took me about 40 minutes to get the game.

I went home right away. Popped it in the Wii. There was an update on the game, so I updated. The first thing I did was play a Brawl match with Mario. I'm gonna stop mentioning every little detail right now, cause I don't have the energy and brain power to type it up.

It took me a while to get used to the controls of the game. Actually I'm still not used to the controls. It's kinda hard to get the Smash Attacks with the Wii-remote unlike the GameCube controller where you just use the C-Stick for smashes. And I don't have a GC controller. I've searched on eBay, but couldn't find anything in Canada. I'm probably just going to get used to the Wii-remote controls.

After I played a few matches. I realized why this game is so great. Its so deep. Now, I'm not going to talk about advanced techniques or anything like that, because I have no idea about those stuff. I've never played Smash Bros. before, and not even any fighting game. I'm gonna talk about in first time player point of view.

What fascinated me the most is the amount of options you have. You have lots of stuff to choose from, but the game's main attraction is the Brawl match option. Each character has so many moves:

- A-button Attacks: you have 4 options with these attacks (Up-tilt, Down-tilt, Side-tilt, Neutral-tilt).
- A-button Smashes: you have 3 options (Up-smash, Down-smash, Side-smash).
- A-button Attacks in the air (Aerials): you have 5 options (Up-aerial, Down-aerial, Forward-aerial, Backward-aerial, Neutral-aerial).
- B-button Specials: you have 4 options (Up-special, Down-special, Side-special, Neutral-special).
- Grabs: you have 5 options (Pummel, Up-throw, Down-throw, Forward-throw, Backward-throw)
- Final Smash

And each of these moves differ from one character to another, and rack up different damages.

I'm having so much fun just playing with the CPU, and I can't wait to try to play with an actual person sitting next to me. I have yet to play an online match that didn't lag. So, I couldn't really enjoy online that much.

My most chosen character at the moment is Meta Knight. I'm just very comfortable with him. I haven't unlocked all the characters yet, I have just unlocked Lucario today.

Final thoughts: if you have a Wii go get the game now, and if you didn't like it at first. give it sometime, Play a few matches, and get to learn the characters.

I think I'll do a follow up post on this topic next month.

High Quality Backgrounds (InterfaceLIFT)

This by far the best site I found on the web for backgrounds (or wallpapers, for Wimdows users). The nice thing about this website is that you can upload backgrounds that you designed yourself, but they must be approved first, which is good, because the website is just full of high quality backgrounds. The search function is awesome. You can just choose the resolution your running and your set. It will show all the backgrounds on the site that fit your resolution. They also have iPhone/iPod touch, Sony PSP, and iPod (nano and classic) resolution backgrounds.

They're not just limited to backgrounds, they have icons and themes too, but I don't really change my icons or themes. Recently, they released the iPhone version of the website, for easily navigating from iPhone/iPod touch.

I guess thats it for me today. Be sure to check the website out. Blog to you soon.
